Ford 6R80 Transmission

One of the most common Automatic Transmissions in recent years.

The 6R80 is a six-speed automatic transmission. Introduced in 2009, it has been a key component in many of Ford’s rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles.

This transmission is commonly found in models such as the Ford Ranger, Ford Everest, the Ford F-150, Mustang, Falcon XR6 and XR8 range.

Ford’s 6R80 is designed to handle a significant amount of torque, making it suitable for high-performance and heavy-duty applications.

Often praised for its durability, smooth shifting, and adaptive learning capabilities, making it a reliable choice for various Ford vehicles, especially in demanding applications like towing and off-roading.

Although well regarded, this transmission has become very well known to our RHA Technicians, due to various faults and manufacturing flaws.
